Many states, such as Pennsylvania, are embracing and
\nsupporting June as Internet
\nSafety month<\/a>. They are supporting the campaign by reminding their residents
\nto watch their childrens online activity as well as their own. This public
\neffort will help cyber security awareness<\/a>
\nbecome an everyday effort and hopefully have a long-term effect that will
\nprevent online fraud. While many of these efforts are focused around children
\nand the elderly, there is also a large portion of online users that this
\ncampaign pertains to that arent often called out. Anyone conducting online
\ntransactions, whether its banking, shopping, or booking should know the risks
\nof poor online security.<\/p>\n

Knowing the risks of poor online security does not just
\napply to consumers. Businesses and business owners should understand the risks
\nof online transactions and online fraud. While protecting children and the
\nelderly from malicious Internet activity is important, its also important to
\nstop fraud at the root. Many companies that provide online services do not
\nthink online fraud will affect them. Businesses conducting business online
\nshould make fraud
\nprevention<\/a> a priority to help protect users from online identity theft and
\nother online crimes. Identity
\nverification and authentication<\/a> is a small step with a big impact.
\nCompanies that utilize these fraud prevention measures can stop an online
\nfraudster in their tracks by not allowing them access to sensitive information
\nor transactions. Education, awareness, and prevention are the keys to making
\nonline activity safer now and in the future.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
