The National Cyber Security Alliance<\/a> declared June as National Internet Safety Month, and has been exploring how individuals and
\norganizations can contribute to the Stop, Think, Connect campaign. <\/span>As this important month has come to an end,
\nEVS has taken the opportunity to reflect on what this campaign means, and how
\nthey as an organization can help prevent identity theft and other online
\nfraudulent activities.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One of the most important things to remember is that
\nInternet fraud happens all the time, not just during a specific month, says VP
\nof Client Services, Eric Knapp. In an interview, Knapp stressed the importance
\nof consumers and businesses alike to be smart. This is where EVS falls under
\nthe Think<\/strong> step of the campaign.
\nConsumers and businesses need to look beyond the convenience of modern
\ntechnology, and take the extra time and step to be authenticated, Knapp
\ncautions.<\/p>\n

EVS offers identify
\nverification and authentication<\/a> that acts as the Stop<\/strong> step in the campaign. By authenticating an identity, it stops
\nunauthorized information from being processed and prevents further damage. This
\ncan stop online fraud from happening and protects consumers and businesses. EVS

So whats in the months to come? As Knapp stated in his
\ninterview, mobile
\nfraud<\/a> is a top risk moving forward from Internet Safety Month. With the
\nincrease use\/dependence of mobile devices, it has become the newest hub for
\nfraud. As highlighted in the latest issue of the EVS monthly newsletter, Identinews<\/a>,
\nmobile theft is becoming just as easy as the payments are.<\/p>\n
