\ninstitutions to help prevent distance learning cheating on exams. For years EVS
\nhas worked with online
\nlearning institutions<\/a>, such as online traffic schools, to ensure the
\nidentity of the student. A quick Google search of my alma mater showed just
\nhow much more prevalent online classes are to the traditional brick and mortar
\ninstitutions. As competitive as college can be, there seems to be a rash of
\ndistance learning cheating happening online today. The media has picked up on
\nSAT\/ACT cheating and books are being written about cheating rings<\/a>,
\nbut everyday test taking is becoming a big problem. There are black markets for
\ntest-takers and institutions are looking to crack down. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\nand password, the system is wide open.
\n<\/span>Some out-of-the-box platforms like Blackboard<\/a>
\nhave some authentication built in, but mostly for secure communication.
\nMulti-factor authentication is an easy overlay tool to keep students honest,
\nbut only to a certain point. Knowledge
\nBased Authentication<\/a> questions are an inexpensive and easily deployable
\nmethod to ensure ONLY the student is logging in to take the exam. Who actually
\nanswers the questions is a completely different challenge, but a challenge
\nwere looking to take on. <\/span><\/p>\n
